Dr. Michael J. Grasso was appointed as the Medical Director for the Emergency Service at Cobb Veterinary Emergency and Referral Clinic in November of 2003. He is native to Dubois, PA. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA in 1995, where he graduated with honors with a double major in biology and chemistry and a minor in psychology. He is a member of Lambda Sigma National Honor Society as well as Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. His undergraduate thesis in the field of behavioral ecology entitled Badges of Status and Their Effects of Status Signaling in Dark-eyed Juncos was published in August, 1995 edition of The Condor . He graduated from veterinary medical school at The Ohio State University in 1999 with honors. He is a member of Phi Zeta National Veterinary Honor Society as well as Omega Tau Sigma Veterinary Fraternity. He completed an official rotating internal medicine, surgery, and emergency/critical care internship at The University of Minnesota in 2000. During this time he published an article entitled Portosystemic Shunts Can Be Congenital or Acquired. He has professionally prepared and presented the clinical conference entitled Wound Healing and Wound Management . Since the internship, he has been employed by Cobb Veterinary Emergency and Referral Clinic and has enjoyed providing quality emergency, surgical, and critical care while helping to bring a teaching and learning environment to a practical setting. Emergency abdominal/thoracic surgery, cytology, immune-mediated disease, and avian medicine are professional interests. Outside work interests include: fishing, sports, music, and fine dining.

Dr. Susan Engeran attended the University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She went on to study at the Louisiana State School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Engeran has been practicing emergency and critical care medicine in the Atlanta since she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.  Dr. Engeran was part of CEVC’s relief staff for two years before became a staff doctor in 2004. Dr. Engeran enjoys taking trips and scuba diving with her husband Dave.

Dr. Marcus T. Smith attended Clemson University and graduated in 1999 with a bachelors degree in Animal Science. Marcus was also a member of the Clemson University football team during his years at Clemson. Following his undergraduate degree, he attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he was awarded a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA in 2005 and has been a member of Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic since the summer of 2005.

Dr. Brian Berger graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Industries from Clemson University before attending the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine,  where he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.  Dr. Berger completed a small animal rotating internship at The Animal Medical Center of New York in 2005, after which he joined Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Erin Gaudry attended the Georgia Institute of Technology earning a Bachelors of Science, Microbiology prior to admission to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. After being awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, Dr. Gaudry completed an emergency and critical care internship at Louisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services. Upon completion of her internship in 2006, Dr. Gaudry joined the CEVC team.

Dr. Beth Cochran earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. After working for a while as a primary care veterinarian, Dr. Cochran found her love of emergency medicine. She has spent the last five years working in the emergency field. She joined the CEVC team in early 2007.

Dr. Tara Miska attended Fordham University earning a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature prior to admission to the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. While attending Vet School, Dr. Misak was a Live-in resident Student assisting clinicians with all aspects of  small and large animal  emergency  surgery as well as performing complete blood counts, serum chemistries, blood gasses, fluid analysis & various other clinical pathology tests. After being awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, Dr. Miska chose to stay at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and complete a Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery internship. Upon completion of her internship in 2007, Dr. Miska joined the CEVC team.
